Scientific application specialist (f/m/d)
Coriolis Pharma is a globally operating independent service provider for formulation research and development of (bio)pharmaceutical drugs (proteins, peptides, monoclonal antibodies, RNA/DNA etc.) and vaccines. An interdisciplinary team of highly qualified scientists with many years of experience in the development of (bio)pharmaceuticals supported by an expert scientific advisory board provides cutting-edge service and know-how related to the formulation development of biopharmaceuticals.
In the Data Science unit, we are right now building up the scientific IT infrastructure to match our future ambitions within the field of data science. As an important first milestone, we are identifying relevant software solutions (ELN, LIMS, and scientific data management system) to support the scientific work of our 60 researchers; followed by system design and implementation. To that end, we are now looking to hire a scientific application specialist.
Your first task will be to spearhead the process and ultimately help decide on the required hardware and software infrastructure in collaboration with our IT unit and external consultants. You will implement the solution and drive the successful roll-out across the organization. This involves a broad range of interesting tasks, such as customizing software, creating data parsers for scientific instruments, troubleshooting, user training, and documentation. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for the scientific IT setup, assist users, and work as a data engineer to ensure that the acquired data is compatible with our visualization and analysis tools. Extensive on-the-job training and participation in vendor seminars and conferences will prepare you well for your tasks and keep you up-to-date on emerging technologies. At Coriolis, you will be part of a vibrant scientific culture and interact with international scientists to translate their needs into effective and innovative software solutions.
- You have a background in IT management, computer science, life science informatics or similar discipline.
- Microsoft certification is considered an advantage (e.g., MCSE Data Management and Analytics)
- You have work experience from a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical company where you gained expert experience with LIMS, ELN, and sample management.
- Experience with data visualization and analysis is considered an advantage but not a must (e.g., Spotfire, R, python)
- You can communicate clearly in English.
- You have a strategic mindset and enjoy staying up-to-date on new technologies.
- You enjoy implementing new technologies and you like to support other people.
